knives out was a thouroughly average well made movie. nothing wrong with that. they used to make those a dime a dozen back in the day. in fact idk if the popularity of this film had to do with people’s lower standards that elevate everything to something it’s not (including hailing them as “revolutionary” or some other socio-political progressiveness) or because there’s now a severe lack of american mid-budget 6/10 movies being made these days so this one stood out. maybe both

Okay, me getting fic prompts has actually just resulted in me having a list of movies to watch. If you think I've ever seen a movie, you are wrong.

Also, feel free to send me movies to watch. I don't know where to start. There has to be at least 50 of them out there and it's overwhelming.

Okay so we got a new student in our class but I didn’t know, so I turned to my partner and asked, “we got a new character?” And if that doesn’t say something then I don’t know what does

Unless an East Asian writer is given author credits in an “Asian inspired” novel written a white author, that the EA writer “helped” with, I don’t think I could trust that book. It’s easy enough to say someone of a certain race helped a white author not be completely racist, but giving them authorial credit speaks volumes more than a white author insisting they were “culturally sensitive” while researching information for their novel.

i wish there was some kind of device which could wipe out your memory of a book series that you read in the past so that you can keep relieving all the emotions and feels you felt when you first read it.
