28 Nentor. What's it mean to you?

November 28th is a very emotional and important day to me which represents Albanians' struggle for peace and existence. The Albanians have been the earliest settlers of Europe. Since the Gallic invasions to the Roman invasions and to the more modern Turkish/Slavic/Greek/Italian/German invasions, the Albanians have survived. We have survived thousands of years of warfare, torture, genocide, rape, imprisonment, assimilation, discrimination, deportation, corruption, etc. To many November 28th is the birth of the state of Albania, however in reality it is a day of great sadness. Even though it was a great day to finally be free from the oppressive Turks, another enemy came to take their place. The majority of Albanians and it's lands came under direct control of the Serbians and Greeks, which till this very day remain in control. For the past 100 years, the Slavs and Greeks have tried to exterminate us but have been unsuccessful! That is why to me, November 28th is a day of defiance! A day to remind the Slavs, Greeks and the world that Ulqini-Prishtina-Tirana-Shkupi-Arta will forever remain red & black. There will never be peace in the Balkans until Albania is rightfully unified!
