I’m surprised the constant acknowledgment that shriekwrecked was originally going to be a g1 line that happens whenever someone complements it doesn’t also come with the acknowledgment of what shriekwrecked being a g1 line means.

It means monster high was always headed in the more kiddy direction g2 took.

Because shriekwrecked is good… for a g2 line. It’s very much still steeped heavily in g2s younger tone.

It’s a children’s bookesk pirate themed line after all. Look at them with the understanding it was only the faces that changed between the generation shift.

This is still very much g2s brighter colours and more youthful aesthetic choices. Just with slightly more budget than most of g2’s releases.

To know that this was supposed to be a G1 release!?! No it doesn’t quite align tonally. This is completely in soul a g2 line.

So that means g1 was already planned to shift younger and younger in demographic before they panicked and hard reboot everything.
