Coming out of project Hail Mary, as a Christian, was incredible.

The movie didn't force religion/theology down the viewer's throat, but still respected it and gave it nice representation.

Having Eva Stratt have strong faith genuinely builds on her character and motivations. From a Christian perspective, there are many biblical stories about one person sacrificing themself to save many. Heck! Even Jesus follows that narrative.

And when you look at Jesus' desperate prayer in the garden, the night before His crucifixion, you can see the parallels to Grace's desperate attempt to flee the impending doom on the Hail Mary.

Both of them knew it needed to be done, but in their inner humanity they feared the agony of it. But the writers made sure Grace's experience was much more human and even selfish in a sense, giving him room for a character arc.

And this ties back to Stratt. She grew up with this narrative. One sacrifice to save humanity is the biggest act of love she could fathom. And she was hurt by this as well. He was her friend, and even an emotional brother in a way. She took the role of Mary, seeing someone she held dear need to be sacrificed, even though neither she nor him wanted it to be the only way.

Along with the short statement, "well it's better than the alternative." When asked about her faith, and the gospel music at the end credits, I genuinely felt respected and appreciated by this film. And I loved how my own faith, allowed me to view this masterpiece through a theological lens that made certain aspects even more emotional.

Also, thank goodness for a sci-fi movie without romance! It was getting exhausting.

I put Pomni on my island. Caine fell in love with her upon their first interaction. (Her helping him up after a fall)

Crazy tamodachi life update, Caine and teto started dating a week ago and now they are married.

New crack-ship name: dental-drills.

I had a weird dream last night that I watched the last act TADC. And it was revealed that everyone wasn't actually humans. BECAUSE THEY WERE REALLY SPACE MONKEYS IN LIFE IMPRISONMENT.

Let me explain.

So apparently everyone came from this orange planet (can't remember the name) where it was exactly like earth, except for a few things.

1: instead of humans, the inhabitants were hyper evolved monkeys that just looked like human sized monkeys.

2: they had very advanced tech, but it looked cartoony. Like the Jetsons cartoon tech designs.

3: everything was in a 2d animation style that was grossly detailed and looked like some kind of disturbing kids book. The expressions were so exaggerated it looked intimidating. You could see every wrinkle, scar, and zit on their faces.

Now for some reason, in this universe, The Amazing Digital Circus, was actually their method of life imprisonment.

In the dream Jax was up for probation so he was temporarily taken out, but still in his 3d model rabbit form.

When someone enters the circus they forget all their crimes and their names. As a way to keep the criminals pacified and stuck.

But for some reason Jax remembered everything, and was purposely keeping it form the rest of the cast.

So yeah. That's my new AU that my subconscious brain came up with. What are we calling it?
