is anyone else old enough to remember when everyone was drawing meta knight as a twink all the time in like the mid 2010's. am i making that up. it would be a problem if i was making that up because my 40 year old man meta knight would be needlessly reactionary to Twink Meta Knight who didn't exist

I think one of my favorite things about writing Meta Knight (especially later down the timeline when he's healed a lot) is that he's a huge softie, and I think that comes out especially in moments of vulnerability. he's the kind of person who loves very rarely but very fiercely, and when he does love it's a very pure, genuine, devoted love.

I don't even mean just romantic either. like yes, of course he loves Dedede, and that's the example you see most from me. but he also loves Kirby like a son. he loves his crew and would sacrifice everything to keep even just one of them safe. under that harsh veneer was someone who just wanted to feel love for once in his life and I think it's both incredibly sad and incredibly wonderful at the same time that he finds that in his middle ages for the very first time.

writing has made me feel sappy. have my sappy feelings.

gonna be vulnerable for a second here but thank you for being normal about fat people? I know it’s not like this on the whole site—notoriously, it’s not—but compared to other social medias I cannot emphasize enough how much less fatphobia I see. (Twitter is fucking vile, but then again Twitter is vile about absolutely everything and everyone who isn’t a cis het white man.) I’m positive it’s mostly because of the lovely community that the Kirby fandom has fostered, but it’s wonderful all the same. I joke about Dedede a lot, but drawing him and learning his body actually played a pretty large role in accepting mine. And then to see so many people just. obsessed with the guy. I don’t know, it makes me happy lol. so take this as my monthly thank you for being cool, and hanging out and chatting with me :)
