One of our muses is hurt.

It was a typical day in Hope’s Peak Academy. Bolted metal windows. Barred exit doors. No outside contact. Not to mention the evil duo-colored machine of a bear named Monobear. Such a creative name.

The “school announcement” rang for all of the students to wake up. Really, it was just that same stupid bear with its annoying voice telling everyone to wake up.

Ayane got out of bed, not even bothering to change out of her sleepwear or to brush her hair. She saw her friend Tomi and slowly walked over to her, suddenly tripping over someone’s book or something—she couldn’t tell very well—and falling on her face at her friend’s feet. Ouch.

A tiny girl in an overlarge purple sweater and only one shoe enters the small room. There are beds lined up against the wall, five in total. The girl looks around confusedly, rubbing one of her eyes under her grimy glasses. She seems dazed, standing in the dim room. Shouldn’t her eyes have adjusted by now…? She continues rubbing even as the sound of rushing footsteps echoes in the hallway behind her. Only when a high-pitched voice yells something she doesn’t quite understand does her head turn, her eyes widen. Then, she stumbles over to one of the beds, crouching as quickly as she can and pushing her hands under it.

"Ah…?" The underside of the bed is completely blocked by suitcases. Just her luck. There’s no time to check another one, as rough hands dig into her hair, yanking her back and hurling her to the ground. Her glasses skitter away, leaving her completely blind to her attackers, aside from being able to see the vague outline of their bodies. The say something else, the only word she can understand being "idiot," before a foot comes in contact with her face. 

Yuuma remains silent, in her own pitch-black world, even as they kick her again, and laugh. She hears the crunch of glass and more laughter before the sound of the two exiting finally comes.

She picks herself up off the floor, her eyes wide and unseeing, and feels around until she locates the twisted metal frames of her glasses. With a sigh, she fiddles them back into some sort of shape and sets them on her face, before shuffling out of the room.

McDonalds is a perfectly balanced meal. Fries count as a vegetable.

Atsuko tilted her head in confusion. What was this girl saying? She tapped her chin, thinking about this statement. She even “hmm”d, but then finally spoke up."…but…fries aren’t a very healthy vegetable, though…" she said. "Even though they’re very good."
