It took Abel a moment to decide if this person was socially inept, extraordinarily rude, or perhaps a combination of the two -- after a moment of scrutinizing, he came to the conclusion that the latter made the most sense from all the options that had been presented. Whether to feel pity or anger towards this troubled youth was beyond him, and the sword-fighter had to remind himself that they had surely been raised differently, it was simply unfair to hold others to the same standards of etiquette that he did himself. But... Even a common plebeian ought to have been taught better than to behave like that.
The boy retracted his hand with a quiet snarl of distaste, intending to make it quite clear to the stranger what he though of hir blatant disrespect. If the Abel done that back home, there was no doubt that he would have received a prompt yet gentle smack from his nanny; enough to get the point across, though not enough to really hurt in any sense. Abel considered it, raising his left hand just an inch -- and reconsidered. Perhaps a verbal assault would wound this ingrate more deeply than a palm to the face.
"Party tricks? Kh... I suppose you would know a thing or two about those, wouldn't you? This ridiculous getup of yours... You look like a circus performer," Abel snorted, taking a small step backwards to gesture at Yamirou's clothing. "Or... Perhaps it's your intention to look like a court jester? Can you do a trick or two for me, pretty please?" Abel asked, using his courtly voice, the one his etiquette instructor had trained him to use in the company of Generals and Ministers.
To call that a stretch would be an understatement, almost laughably so, but it got the job done. He only hoped his sarcasm had made it across the language barrier. The boy snapped out of the joking attitude at a moment's notice, his eyes narrowing. He looked back upon the person who stood before him, feeling his eye twitch at the cavalier expression which the two of them were surely sharing.
"In all serious, I haven't the slightest clue who you are. And based on your manners and apparent upbringing, I'm not entirely sure I'd like to know."
