Lair Review for MuseofTime!
Amitiel sighed and muttered to herself as she flew over and around the pink floating crystals hanging in the air. "I don't see why I have to be the one to travel to new clans. 'Make friends,' they said. 'It'll be good to meet others,' they said. I have friends! Eclair is my friend," she grumbled, rolling her eyes even if there was no one there to see.
Spotting what seemed to be the correct clan, she landed with a soft thump in what seemed to be the main area. She had hardly had a chance to look around before a small Fae landed on her face.
"Hello there," the female chirped. "I see you're a visitor. You're welcome to stay here as long as you want, if you tell me of the places you've been." The monotone voice sharply contrasted the excitement evident in the movement of her frills, which made Amitiel snort slightly.
"Uh, I've been to my birthclan in the Hewn City, and my current clan, with resides in the Gladevines," Amitiel said slowly, watching the Fae's frills calm and fold gradually. "Sorry to disappoint. I'm Amitiel, from Clan Silva Dracones. You, um, have a lovely clan..." she smiled awkwardly, not sure how to act around this Fae, who was clearly in charge.
"Oh. Well, I'm Enkai, the Matriarch of this clan. Enjoy your visit," Enkai said before drifting off again. Amitiel let out a huff of air, glad the Fae wasn't on her face anymore. She looked around before settling her gaze on a dragon across the clearing.
Amitiel smiled as she approached the Skdancer. "Lady Gladekeeper, you're gorgeous! What's your name?" The female simply stared at her, a smile touching the corners of her beak.
"Oh, Lachtna won't answer you! She doesn't talk, but if she did, I'm sure she would thank you for the compliment! Right, mentor?" The new voice turned out to be another Skydancer, arriving in a soft swirl of petals. Lachtna had hardly nodded in agreement before the new dragon was off again. "We're both healers! She's teaching me all the stuff she knows, which is kind of hard since she can't speak, but we make do! I like healing, but I think being an ambassador would be cool too!"
"I'm ambass-" was all Amitiel was able to get out before the Skydancer started talking again.
"Oh you are? Hm, I bet you're ambassador to the Ice flight! You look very Ice-y, but judging from your eyes, you were born in a Light clan? Why is that?" The dark Skydancer paused, clearly expecting an answer this time.
"Yes, I was born in a Light clan," Amitiel replied, a hint of annoyance coloring her tone. "However, my allegiance lies with the Icewarden, and therefore I am the Ice ambassador for my clan. Now, you're both very pretty, and I'm sure very nice dragonesses, but I need to go talk to... that dragon over there." And with that, Amitiel walked fairly fast to another part of the clearing, happy to escape the chatty Skydancer. "Shame that Lachtna can't talk, I'm sure she's interesting," she muttered to herself.
Before she reached the other side, however, she crashed into another Imperial, landing a in tangle of limbs and tail. Amitiel let out an unhappy grumble as she extracted herself from the other dragon. "Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was running, I didn't expect anyone to be over here," said the other dragon, looking sheepish.
"It's... fine," Amitiel ground out, sneering at the Imp. "I'm Amitiel, who do I have the pleasure of... meeting?"
The female laughed a bit, before grinning and bumping snouts with Amitiel by way of greeting. "I'm Mavis! I really am sorry, I guess I've been spending too much time with the hatchlings; I'm reverting back to one myself!"
That gave Amitiel pause. "You're the hatchling watcher? Wow, I don't know how you could stand to be around them all the time," she said in surprise. She looked the dragon over more clearly. "You're so pretty, I don't know why your clan would hide you with the hatchlings."
Mavis only smiled wider, shaking her head. "I don't mind, really! The hatchies are fun. Speaking of the little ones, I better get back!" With a wave of one paw, the Imp set off again, leaving Amitiel slightly amused.
She absentmindedly wandered around, enjoying the strange blue light the surrounding foliage gave off when she heard a shout. Freezing, she turned her head to look for the commotion. A Wildclaw was heading towards her, looking both annoyed and concerned. "Don't you look at where you're placing your feet? You almost stepped on one of my bushes," he said in a quiet but firm voice.
Amitiel blinked before looking down. "Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't notice. I'm Amitiel, supposedly here to make friends." She sat back on her haunches and scratched her neck sheepishly.
The Wildclaw blinked before blushing slightly. "It's okay. Sorry for yelling, I just care a lot about the garden." Amitiel shrugged and nodded.
"It's fine! I get it, two of my clanmates keep a garden and they yell at anyone who might harm it. It's quite funny, actually, to see a tiny Fae yelling at an Imperial or Ridgeback," she said, chuckling slightly. Photios nodded, also smiling a bit. "Anyways, I should get back to my clan. I think I've had enough of friend-making for the day."
She said goodbye loudly, waving at Mavis briefly before taking off and heading for home again. Perhaps visiting other clans isn't too bad, Amitiel thought as the clan disappeared behind her.
