Prior to the discovery of the Library of Ashurbanipal, the Bible was considered the oldest book in the world, and The Song of Songs from the Bible (also known as The Song of Solomon) the oldest love poem. However, dated to the 6th-3rd centuries BCE, it could no longer be considered the oldest love poem once The Love Song for Shu-Sin was discovered in the ruins of Nineveh.
