To the person asking about lefties: People tend to think that, as a violinist, it's easier to be a lefty. However, I'm a righty and over my 10 years playing violin, my fine motor skills are actually better on my left than my right. I've found that it's easier to do things like squeeze, shake, and brush my teeth with my left. However, it depends on the instrument. As a drummer, it is definitely, definitely an advantage to be a righty. Most downbeats and accents are played on the right hand.
