Introducing Let's Play Social Justice
As you may have noticed, 'feminstroosterteeth' has changed into 'letsplaysocialjustice'. I am now opening up this blog to ALL Youtube Let's Play fandoms. Since this was previously a Rooster Teeth fandom blog, the content may be Achievement Hunter heavy at first, but I hope that the blog will grow to include many popular (or even not-so-popular) let's players for a hub of social justice & critical content of our favourite let's players.
LPSJ is a place for those who might otherwise feel ostracised in the let’s play community to be fans in their own way. It is a place for fans to come and find some solidarity where they otherwise might be told to shut up, or be sent hate. Anonymous asks are always on so that people can share critical opinions without fear of community backlash. LPSJ is a place that advocates that it is possible to be a fan of something without excusing oppressive content & slurs. It is possible to be a critical fan, and I want to celebrate that!
Share this around, get the word out - let's get some other let's player fandoms on board!
Hey all. With everything that has been happening with RT lately, I'm not sure how much longer I can justify being a fan of Rooster Teeth to myself (and by extension running an RT-focused blog), especially if things continue on as they are. However, I don't want to give up this blog either.
So I was thinking, and this is me kind of putting my feelers out. I already take some TWs & commentary from other let's players like Markiplier, Yogscast etc. So how would people feel if I expanded/extended this blog to discussion & trigger warnings etc. for youtube/let's players in general?
I just wanted to get some thoughts on the matter.
What oppression is: being tortured physically for who/what you are, being treated differently/unjustly for who/what you are, being forced to do what others want you to do because of who/what you are. Having acid thrown in your face for speaking your mind. Being starved for who/what you are. IE having no control over your life because of who you are. What oppression isn't: somebody saying a word you don't agree with/don't like/are offended by.
Is anyone else getting this weird thing where if you go to some blogs it redirects to your dashboard? Like if I go to www.feministroosterteeth.tumblr.com/ it redirects to my dash...
Weird, seems fixed now.
Dash spam over for now, sorry. Will be posting more asks throughout the evening but at usual rate!
I just came home to 51 messages in my inbox, which is a fair bit lmao. Just a heads up to prepare for a bit of dash spam. I won't be answering all of them but yeah.
Just a heads up that I'm moving house over the weekend so I might be a bit scarce whilst that happens!
