With all the lovey dovey feelings left over from yesterday and decided to write a little romantic scene between two of my characters. It got way more deep than I was expecting...
Chesh stood outside Alice’s door. His hand was poised to knock, but something held him back. He looked down at the single white rose in his hand. It was slightly crushed and wilted because he had snagged it out of a dumpster behind a flower shop. He watched as a petal fell lose and dropped to the floor.
What was he doing here?
He dropped his hand. Now was not the time for flowers. Not when the Queen’s men could arrive at any moment. This had been a stupid idea.
Chesh turned to go. Just as he reached the stairs the door opened. Chesh whirled around, bumping his arm on the railing and smacking him into the wall. Alice stood in the doorway, blinking sleepily. She was dressed in a long t-shirt and shorts. Chesh felt his face grow warm as he tried not to stare.
“Chesh?” Alice asked sleepily. She ran her hand through her sleep-tousled hair, making it even messier.
“I—what? Nothing!” Chesh stammered, he tried to back away but he tripped on the top step. Alice’s eyes sparkled with laughter.
“What are you doing here silly cat?” Alice asked, her voice was soft and sleepy. Chesh shallowed and tried to regain his composure.
“I—uh,” Chesh scrambled for some kind of explanation.
“What’s that?” Alice asked. Chesh looked down at the rose still clenched in his fist. He quickly put it behind his back.
“Is that for me?” Alice teased coming close. Chesh felt his face burn.
“I—yes,” Chesh said softly. When he looked up he saw the teasing look in Alice’s eyes had been replaced by surprise.
“Really?” she asked.
“Uh, yeah,” Chesh said, taking a small step forward. He looked down at the sad little flower, “I found it and I, uh . . . well I thought of you.”
Alice had a look in her eyes that Chesh had never seen before. She looked like she was about it say something but instead she gentle took the rose, her hands lingering on his for a moment. Chesh felt a thrill of electricity everywhere that he skin touched his.
“A white rose,” Alice muttered, “I’ve only ever seen red ones here.”
“It’s special,” Chesh said. Suddenly feel bold her took another step toward her, “like you.” Alice looked up. Her eyes where misty blue pools, shining with some emotion that Chesh couldn’t name.
Or was afraid to name.
“Chesh,” Alice said softly.
Chesh felt his heart falter. She was so close. He took a tiny step back.
“You can take her down,” he said, “I know it.” he grinned, hiding his panic.
“I—” Alice began.
“You should go back to bed,” Chesh finished, “We’ve got a big day ahead of us.”
Chesh left Alice standing in the hall. Words left unsaid still hung between them.
K so I'm a fucking genius. My Ouran OC is based off of Hikaru, in the aspect she can barely keep her emotions contained. In a way, he was the base for her character. I chose Hiraku as her last name because it means open. I just now realized, Hiraku is an anagram for Hikaru, you literally just switch the a and k, then put them after the i. Seriously that is just so cool. And plus, I chose Kamiko as her first name because it means superior child. Kamiko is the superior child because she's an only child. I found that ironic, and because having no one to go to or be with, or really feel loved by, being along is a huge part of her character, I put it in. So in Jenna speak, to me Kamiko represents being lonely, and an only child. So her name symbolically means an only child version of Hikaru. That is so amazing and cool I just- it's perfect.
"I didn't know this was going to happen. I'm telling you, I had no clue she was this... I'm sorry, I can't tell you how horrible I feel. I just...I didn't know."
Her first message came when the day ended. The school day that is. I can't even remember how long ago it was. Six months? A year? I can remember that first message though, clear as day. I can remember everything about that moment. The moment I met her. I was sitting in my mom's car, on my way home from school. Like every other day, I'd fish out my phone and check my tumblr.
"Ezra, why can't you put that away for once and talk to me?" I turned to see my mother talking to me.
"Mooom what have I told you?"
Mom gave a stern expression, "You really should be proud of your name. It means helper you know." It didn't last long though, as she gave a small laugh, "You need your fandom time, I know."
I was one of the blessed people that had parents that were in fandoms. She was still a parent, but at least she understood. Now if only I could get her to go back in time and name me something normal...
"Could you at least go on something else for a bit? Maybe Facebook? Tumblr'll be there when you get back."
I opened my mouth to reply when a number caught my eye on the screen. I'd tapped my ask box. My usual five messages I kept around who knows why had changed to a six. I had an ask to answer. I instantly turned my attention back to my phone, going into my ask box to read it.
It was from an anon. It read: "H-hi! I-i'm a bit new to tumblr. I was ch-checking out some of my fandoms and I notice you post in a lot of them. A-anyway I just wanted to say I love your blog, and I was hoping we could talk a little? Just until I get on my feet, promise."
I gave a small chuckle. This wasn't an every day anon. It wasn't long before I found myself replying. Why not? Might as well humor her. But what was with the stutters? This wasn't real life. If she messed up on a computer you can redo it. It was stupid to put stutters there to purposefully seem shy. Nevertheless, it was kind of funny.
It didn't take long for me to reply. "Awe, thanks! I'd love to talk to ya, but it's kinda hard when you're hiding behind that anon! Come out here so I can give ya a hug!" Aaaaand post. That should do it. After the reply, I put the anon in the back of my mind. After all, at that time I didn't know.
((So, no I'm not changing this to some sort of story blog. I got an idea from a message that I think a lot of tumblr users should hear, so I'm doing this one story in pieces over time until it's completed. So, see you in part two.)
