As the ruler of Akize, you have several advisors. Unfortunately for you, few were as qualified as your younger siblings.

Bertrand/Bertrada - The Marshal

The eldest of your siblings and only one year younger. They were trained by your mother (and your ‘Uncle’ Phillippe, after her death) on how to be a tactician and strategist. Even though they’ve always been somewhat jealous of you, they faithfully serve as your Marshal.

Albus/Albane - The Chancellor

The elder of the two twins, they are one of the ‘middle children’ of your parents and are about three years younger than you. They were trained on how to be a diplomat by your paternal uncle, Louis, and serve as your chancellor. They can be much more underhanded than most people expect.

Melanthe/Melanie - The Spymaster

The younger of the two twins, they are one of the ‘middle children’ of your parents and are about three years younger than you. They were trained in espionage by their father (and by Count Francois of Tolosa, after your father’s death), and serve as your spymaster. They are prone to overworking themselves, the result of a pseudo-inferiority complex combined with middle child syndrome.

Évariste/Enora - The Scholar

The second-youngest of your siblings, they are about four years younger than you. They were taught matters of scholarship by Bishop Rosalie, and advise you on scientific and historical matters. Despite seemingly having their head in the clouds a lot, they are perhaps the most emotionally intelligent of your siblings.

Phillippe/Perrine - The Steward

The youngest of your siblings, they are about six years younger than you. They were taught economics by Lady Eléonore, and advise you on economic matters. Though they are sweet and bubbly, they have always held a temper.

Some Physical Descriptions

Figured I should provide some physical descriptions of the characters. Just like with the Tarot post though I'll be splitting it up between the ROs and MC's family.

Alessia

Your paternal grandmother, Ranulf's mother, and his predecessor. While you never met her, you learned a good deal about her. She was the Royal Marshal of King Hugh, and, before the consumption sapped away her strength, had the build to match. She was of very tall height, with short platinum blonde hair, heterochromatic (amber and red) eyes, and a light skin tone. The portrait of her which hangs in Castle Guyenne's grand hall shows her bedecked in beautiful bronze-colored armor and wielding a large greatsword.

Ranulf

Despite being dead for a decade and a half now, you still remember your father well. He was of average height, with short black hair, hazel eyes, and a tan skin tone. The portrait of him which hangs in Castle Guyenne's grand hall depicts him in his favorite outfit, a fine suit colored dark blue, and wielding a fine silver dagger. My current thought is that he (and by extension MC and the Council) might have been mixed-race, with his father coming from northern Yafran, but I'm not sure about that.

Ranulf's wife

Despite being dead for a decade and a half now, you still remember your mother well. While she was fond of dresses (especially ones colored blue and/or green), she was fond of practical dresses, and you know that many of her outfits were tailored so that they could easily be fought in. She was of tall height, with long brown hair. Her eye color and skin tone change depending on where she was from - if she was from a colder climate, she had a pale skin tone and blue eyes, while if she was from Hiberia or Siciny she had a light skin tone and green eyes.

Bertrand/Bertrada

Bertie gets their tall height, muscular build, and tan skin from Ranulf's side of the family, but get their long dark brown hair (including a beard if male) and their eye color from your mother's side. As your marshal, they are usually found wearing simple clothes with leather armor atop, with a preference for browns and reds. For a soldier, they have relatively few scars and blemishes, with the most significant being a large burn mark on their left shoulder.

Albus/Albane and Melanthe/Melanie

The twins are identical, however there are two main ways to tell them apart: Alb wears lighter clothes and Mel wears darker clothes, and Mel has horrible eye-bags. Alb and Mel actually heavily take after Alessia, sharing her almost-white platinum blonde hair, heterochromatic eyes, and light skin tone. Unfortunately for them, the twins inherited your grandfather's short height.

Évariste/Enora

E takes mostly after your mother's side of the family - they inherited your maternal grandfather's auburn hair, light skin tone, and your mother's overall build. However, they inherited your father's average height, and they inherited their amber eyes from Alessia. They often wear white and brown robe-like clothes.

Phillippe/Perrine

P'Enfant basically just grabbed a bunch of traits from the gene-pool and ran with them. Short blonde hair (albeit darker than Alessia's platinum-color), tall height from mom, hazel eyes from Ranulf, and light skin tone from maternal grandpa. They favor fine clothes, similar to what your father wore, but with a preference for the color green.

Tarot pt.2

Okay I got distracted playing Mount & Blade yesterday, but here's part 2 of the tarot associations.

B/Bertie is XV - The Devil. The Devil is a card of ambition, sensation and temptation, oppression, and corrupting figures. I think of all the characters, B plays into the dualism between the Reversed and Upright meanings the most. B is jealous of MC, and I wouldn't put it past them to stage a coup if they feel MC is dealing with the Liege poorly, hence the ambition and temptation readings. However, they're probably the member of the Council most against the Liege, and the Reversed meaning of The Devil is all about freeing oneself from oppression and divorcing oneself from corrupting figures. And if MC gets a high enough relation with B, then B is able to (mostly) let go of their jealousy, letting go of their own internal temptations.

A/Alb is XVIII - The Moon. The Moon is a card of trickery, illusion, imagination, and the messages that can be found in one's dreams. Alb is MC's chancellor and diplomatic advisor, responsible for hosting other rulers and communicating with them, hence the association with dream messages. However, they're almost a second spymaster - extremely underhanded and willing to go behind everyone's backs if it furthers their family's goals and/or the deposition of the Liege.

M/Mel is XII - The Hanged Man. The Hanged man is a card of sacrifice, martyrdom, and knowledge. Mel, due to their issues, works themselves to the bone as MC's spymaster, dealing with a spy network that feeds them information from as far away as the capital of the empire or the northern border of Sayland. However, The Hanged Man in its Reversed position is specifically a card of pointless sacrifice, leading back to how the rest of the family would prefer if Mel chilled out.

E is a mix of V - The Hierophant and XVII - The Star. The Hierophant is a card of spiritual authority, conformity, and occasionally mercy, compassion, and education. The Star, meanwhile, is a card of 'the light at the end of the tunnel', joy and hope during a dark time. E, as MC's religious and legal advisor, has a link to the church, especially through their mentor, Bishop Rosalie. Personally, they are a source of great comfort to their family, and a good source of interpersonal advice.

P/P'enfant is XI - Justice. Justice is a card of... well, I don't think you need me to tell you. Once MC decides how to depose the Liege, P begins to become one of the Liege's most vicious opponents, constantly demanding justice for all of their crimes, representing the Upright meanings of karma and justice; additionally, P, as Akize's highest tax official, is the one dealing with the brunt of the Liege's pettiness and abuse of authority (aside from MC), and they also were there to find out when the Liege attacked one of MC's siblings, both of which represent well the Reversed meanings of abuse and miscarriage of justice. Admittedly, this is one of the shakier associations.

The Liege is IV - The Emperor. The Emperor is a card of temporal authority (contrasting with V - The Hierophant, which is similar but more spiritual), leadership, and control. However, the Liege is more associated with the card's Reversed meaning than its Upright meaning: they're a tyrant, they're petty and immature, they're domineering, they're stubborn - all things associated with The Reversed Emperor. There's also minor associations with XVI - The Tower in that by destroying them and upending the old order, MC paves the way for something better... probably.

Can we get facts about the relationship between MC and each of their siblings ? If it’s not too much

Howdy, thanks for the ask!

I'll try to provide what I can, but I want for the player to be able to at least partially define their MC's relationships with their siblings.

That said, there are some broad strokes that always stay the same. For example, the younger siblings - E and P, and to a lesser extent the Twins - often view MC as more of a parent than their, well, parents, since they were so young when Ranulf and his wife were executed. Since MC was teenager (I think of them as specifically having been somewhere in the 13-16 range, but you're free to headcanon them as having been as old as 19) when their parents were executed, P could have been as young as 7.

Also, even at their most strained, none of the sibling relationships are actually bad. At most, I think there would be resentment over certain things - for example, you can choose to make MC rather strict (which will piss off B especially) but no matter what everyone is supportive of and loves each other, which is a big reason MC chose them to be their advisors.

Besides the possibility of MC's strictness, the greatest source of resentment? E is the only one (besides possibly MC) to not have a nickname.

Anyways, beyond that:

B/Bertie, as the second oldest, has a small rivalry with MC (as is to be expected - I'm an only child but from what I hear, younger siblings tend to be twerps), but B still stepped up a lot to help their younger siblings, and is subject to some of the same parentification as MC.

MC at baseline has a modicum of concern for the Twins. Not only are those two the most underhanded of the family, especially A/Alb, but how M/Mel pushes themself is seen by most of their siblings as incredibly unhealthy (and tbh? they're one bad day away from needing to get help for it, but all these kids should get therapy anyways).

E, despite being the second youngest, is a strong pillar of the family. Their extensive knowledge of academics combined with their emotional intelligence makes them MC's go-to interpersonal advisor when not in an official capacity (expect them to comment on your choice of romance and give advice).

P/P'Enfant, with their sweet nature and fiery temper, is often a source of inspiration to rally around for the rest. The others are also incredibly grateful to them for one big reason - they deal with the duchy's taxes, and with how often the Liege changes specifically Akize's taxes, no one else wants to try to wrap their head around them lol.

How would the RO react to MC poisoning the person that wrong them and their family but they had a worse fate than death because it doesnt kill then it makes them mad where they basically end up like Sergy Taboritsky in Hearts of Iron The New Order last days of Europe Mod that's where the Clock Strikes 12 comes from and the meaning behind it is quite dark.

Honestly, while some of their siblings might approve of torturing the liege in such a way (cough cough Alb), the ROs would definitely not - especially F. This goes double if the liege’s ensuing madness fucks up the kingdom as badly as Tabby’s madness fucks up Russia.

Making the liege go irreparably mad would not only be rather brutal (and needlessly so, in the eyes of most of the ROs), but it would still keep them as a threat to people like MC and C. In the characters’ minds, there’s other ways of delivering the liege to a horrible fate that don’t keep them as a threat.

TL;DR The ROs wouldn’t approve due to the brutality of the act and the fact that the liege might become even more dangerous if they went mad.
