R.I.P Band: Sic Bacchus
Back in I think it might have been 2012, my band, Drugstore along with The Cloth and Swarms played a show with Sic Bacchus at the now burnt down Teri’s Bar in the Italian Market area of South Philly. These guys opened the show and I remember them just absolutely slaying their set! I never got to meet them face to face, nor did I ever see them play again, but I do remember them having great songs and and amazing stage presence!
Fast forward to today and well, I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that they just released “Wine Teeth” an upbeat punk effort with super abrasive vocal work that strangely has a great melody. These 5 songs capture their energy, perfectly and are some great tracks to call their last. That leads us into the bad news… Obviously, by now if you read the title and that last sentence correctly, Sic Bacchus is calling it quits… Bummer… I guess all good things have to come to an end, but it still sucks. At least it seems amicable and each member is supportive of each other’s future endeavors. Check out what they had to say about it in their own words below.
Send off Sic Bacchus in a great way by listening to “Wine Teeth” and attending their LAST SHOW at Golden Tea House Friday, February 6th with Baby Bry Bry & The Apologists (DC), Collect Yourself and Theive! We’ll also keep you up to date with their new projects as they release them! So listen below and we’ll update this post when we learn about the details of their last show!
