the toxic yurism of six and chono is the way everyone in the series either uses or wants to use chono for their own agenda including six themself because six saw chono as the tool of their enemy so now they want her to be a tool for change and justice. but chono wants so much to be her own person and no one ever asks her what she wants and now she is stuck between the person that she was and the person that she has to be and they both come at the expense of her own wants and needs.
six wants to be their own person too but they’ve always wanted more than that, mainly revenge. and because so much of their own person, so much of who they are, is entangled with chono, and chono was entangled with esek, so six doesn’t seek their wants or needs beyond that. and there is of course the whole incomprehensible way six ruined themself and their body for revenge. six is arrogant and single-minded about their plans but still they don’t really see themself as a person with wants and needs. i’d say six sees themself as a tool too, for the jeveni’s justice, and for chono’s protection.
and still six and chono want each other, they want each other’s friendship and safety and closeness since they were kids and stripped of their names and gender and practically their humanity. in a story that centers so much around identity and choice, six and chono still chose each other first before they were allowed to choose anything and before they had to live with the whims of esek's choices. which still haunt them both and keep them from truly being who they want to be.
