i want to clarify real quick, because i was pretty freaked out when i made my post last night, and badly needed to ramble into the void. TO BE CLEAR, i have not been definitively diagnosed with lupus yet.
after my maternal aunt was diagnosed, we learned that the condition runs in my mother’s family; since my aunt and i share a lot of symptoms, i decided to go in for testing as well back in april.
when i called the office for my results, specifically asking about the lupus & spondylitis results, the receptionists told me everything was fine, except that i was a little deficient in vitamin D.
now here we are in july. i go in for what i assume is going to be a regular old med check. the test results weren’t mentioned by my doctors initially, but since i was there anyway i figured what the hell, might as well go over them. see if i should be eating more leafy greens or whatever, right?
nope, just kidding. turns out while the receptionists were right about the vitamin deficiency, as well as the negative result for spondylitis, they somehow missed the part where the results of the preliminary lupus testing read “POSITIVE”, in all caps, bolded, and printed in red.
:|
anyway, i just wanted to be a bit more clear on what all happened. i was pretty spun up and anxious when i made that first post, and i didn’t want to go worrying people, or making anybody else unduly anxious by not providing further/more calmly delivered information.
