“Baby, he's beautiful. You did amazing.” Danny said as he looked down at the swaddled newborn in his arms.
“He's only beautiful because he looks just like his daddy.” The sight in front of you almost made your heart leap out of your chest.
“That's bull and you know it, but I'll accept the compliment.” He smirked.
“You know I've been thinking – I know what we should name him.” You and Danny had chosen a few names, but you both decided to meet him first before making any decisions.
“What's that, (Y/N)?” He kept his eyes on your son, letting him hold onto his daddy's finger.
“How about Steven?” Danny immediately looked at you wide-eyed and you couldn't keep a straight face. You laughed but immediately regretted making the joke once every muscle in your abdomen cramped up and felt sore.
“That's not funny,” Danny said as he pointed at you. “Are you okay? Sore?” You nodded back. Considering you'd just pushed out a watermelon without any medication.
“Here, why don't you hold him.” He placed your son in your arms and left a soft kiss on your forehead.
“All jokes aside, I think I've picked a name that's not on the list.” When you looked at Danny you felt more love than you ever thought imaginable and you wanted to be reminded of that feeling everyday. “What do you think about Daniel Williams Jr.?”
Danny's eyes went misty as he looked at you. “Are you sure? That's a pretty big name to live up to,” he laughed through the happy tears that filled his eyes.
“I'm absolutely sure.” You both looked down at your son, your whole world in one tiny little body. Daniel Williams Jr. had two parents that would love him unconditionally for the rest of their lives.
