Sunny relates a lot to Bo in that he knows how tough it can be trying not to feel like trash next to -perfect responsible adult- Otis, and feeling a similar anxiety in being afraid that the person you love is way better than you and may one day realize this and throw you away. A lot of Sunny’s insecurities are similar to Bo’s, but Bo’s are much easier to read, which makes Sunny uncomfortable because it reminds him of his own issues, which he would rather not confront.
He’s also jealous of Bo, but doesn’t actually harbor any malicious intent towards him. He wouldn’t mind being friends, if Bo was less uptight about everything. He loves how Bo overreacts to things, but has realized that bullying Bo may leave long lasting negative impact that he doesn’t want to be responsible for. It’s REAL hard not to pester Bo though-- again, because they both have self-worth issues, it’s real tempting for Sunny to take out his own frustrations on Bo. Finally, Bo terrifies him because Bo’s recent attempts of self-impovement; Sunny’s afraid that at one point soon, Bo may be a quantifiable-y better person than Sunny
