Sidetober Day 8: Twins

A few hours later Roman and Logan were still hidden in the clothes pile. Thomas has long since left to go get some dinner. 

“The more I look at that Octopus, the more it reminds me of my brother.” Roman says a bit sadly.

“Brother?” Logan suddenly breaks out of his intense watch over Patton to stare at Roman in confusion. 

Roman focuses on the octopus and Patton with a sad smile. “Yeah. I have....had...a twin brother.”

“You have never spoken of having a brother.” This new topic seems to have caught Logan’s full attention.

Roman looks down at his hands with a sad smile. “ His name was Remus. He was born only a few minutes. His favorite colors were green and black, just like that octopus. He was chaotic, but also very creative in a kind of dark way-”

“What do you mean by dark way?”

“Blood. Gore. Death. Stuff like that.”

“Seems he’s the opposite of you.”

“Yes, but together we made the most thrilling stories ever. So much suspense. So much angst. So many twists and turns. Don’t get me started on the play writing.” Roman replies with a huge smile as if trapped in a memory.

Logan is almost afraid to ask. “What happened to him?” 

Roman looks over at Logan, pulled from his trip down memory lane. “From what I know he has still alive after my family moved out of this house. Otherwise I’m not sure.”

They both look back at Patton in silence.

Inspired 100% by Atul from Spiritfarer. The second I saw him, I thought of Patton. They are both amazing frog dads.

Love the Spiritfarer game. The art style is adorable! The sad parts hit hard but it’s worth it.
