It felt like it had been sweeps since Sieben had seen Cooper. Since that terrible hunter, and Coop’s owner, had caught up with them in a surprise snatch and go. He’d managed to get away, but Cooper hadn’t been so lucky.
It felt like it had been sweeps, but everything still reminded him of Cooper. Looking up at the stars, packing up to head to wherever he’d end up next.. He kept thinking about the conversations they would have, and about how Cooper seemed to talk like no one else did, but he could always grasp what he meant. Cooper was on a whole different level because of his abilities, but somehow, Sieben could always get just what he was saying.
With a sigh, he trudged on, hoping to be in the next town by sunrise. Maybe Cooper had gotten away again.. Maybe he would be there. There was always hope, he kept telling himself. But every town was one more X on his map, and every location was one more reminder that he might not ever see Cooper again. He kicked a rock, worrying his lower lip between his teeth and looking up at the stars overhead. He wondered if maybe Cooper was looking up at them too..
He needed Cooper back. He longed to hold him close.. To tell him how he really felt. He just had to find him first.
