♕ - For Cole
♕: Holding hands
The news of Anmegarice’s death had shaken everyone to their cores. Not only because the gate between Heaven and Earth had been destroyed and the Reaper was now loose but because they had lost someone so cherished to all of them, even though they had not seen her for thousands of years. If Anmegarice, the most virtuous and selfless of them all, could fall, then what did it mean for those that were damned to Earth? They all felt the same pain over her loss but no pain could compare to that of Cole right now. To know that the bondmate he had held in his heart throughout so much of time of separation only to lose her without even getting to say goodbye, none of them could imagine that sort of pain. So when Maeve showed up at the Delane’s door with a bouquet of white lilies in her hands, she had no idea what she was going to say to Cole. Six hundred years ago she had lost Henry and that grief was still with her everyday but she knew even that the agony she had felt over his death could not relate to Cole’s. She had lost her human lover, not the other half of her soul. His mother opened the door and took the bouquet from her with a sad smile and then directed her towards the upstairs. There she found Cole, just sitting with his head in his hands, staring down at the floor. The look in his eyes…well Maeve just knew that she would never wish the sort of pain and grief that was in those eyes on anyone. Not saying a word, Maeve walked over to the bed and slowly sat down besides him. Then she just took his hand in hers and laced their fingers together. Sometimes, comfort didn’t need to be expressed with the tongue. Cole seemed grateful for her silence and just tightly held onto her hand as a few lone tears fell from his eyes. The two of them stayed like that, silent and hand in hand until his mother came up and told them that there were a more visitors for him to see.
I don't really wanna wake you I just came to get my things But the pretty lil' thing lying there beside you Better take off my wedding ring
