I have Officially started work on writing a book!

It is nothing but a page of notes of ideas so far but it’s officially the first step =D

The new fic chapter is going to be long!

This is just a note to people following my Great Gatsby AU fic that there will be a bit of a delay before the next chapter is up because it is going to be a long one. I’m over two thousand words so far and I’ve not even got to the main event of the chapter, and there’s a lot to come before and after that too. Even if the word count doesn’t end up being huge, this has always been the chapter that will require the most careful planning to pace it properly, so I definitely don’t want to rush it. I’m also busy Friday and Saturday this week which are prime writing days so that doesn’t help. 

Give me another week or two (since for those who don’t know I generally only get the chance to write substantial amounts at the weekend) and it’ll be up, but I hope you don’t mind the delay to ensure the quality is as good as I can make it! <3

As evidence to you all that I HAVE indeed been writing the next chapter of my Great Gatsby AU fic, here is a quick (pre-editing) snippet from near the beginning of the chapter:

The bottle in his hand had been a hint to prepare me for the sight that met my eyes. He was drunk, quite certainly, and was making a valiant effort to avoid meeting my gaze as I stepped in front of him again. I was rather at a loss of how to proceed. Conversations rarely flowed naturally when I was tasked with starting them, but perhaps luckily for both of us, my emotions spoke for me before I could overthink this. “Talk.” A command, not a request, which was unusual enough in itself that Cobblepot finally looked up at me in response to it.

My birthday was on the 23rd and my dad’s was on the 31st and so the weeks before and between those were super busy so I’ve only just really been able to sit down and write. But I am progressing! And we only have two chapters left, and though I used this excuse last time, this is another long and intensive chapter, so it’ll still take me a bit of time to get it done.

Hope you guys don’t mind waiting then, and sorry for the delay already. I’m quite busy again next week so this may not be out until next weekend by the looks of it but you can consider your patience on the matter to be my birthday present if that helps =P
