I’m not even finished with this book yet, but I have to say this:
John Lee Clark’s “Where I Stand: On the Signing Community and My DeafBlind Experience” is an incredible book. I think that anyone with any disability may find this book as relatable as I have, as a hearing-sighted person with AuDHD and a slow processing speed. Where I Stand is a necessary read.
Thank y’all for reading 💙
P.S. I feel recognized as a twice-exceptional student in the chapter “unreasonable effort”, which discusses the struggles unduly put upon DeafBlind students in school systems that weren’t built for them. 💙
P.P.S. PLEASE read this book
