Hello! Here is a small post so you know I am still around and working on this game! In fact, I post most of my updates on Patreon, so if you've enjoyed the demo, consider pledging to keep up with any game updates (as well as view monthly prints and download my stream each month).
As for game itself, the above image is part of a route that you get after falling from the tree on the first day -- it’s the only the route that will utilize this room, but what purposes will it serve? You’ll have to see in the full version!
A small update, but I have put a bit more info on the about and character pages now that my demo has been out for bit! I’ve also put a link to the demo download on this blog as well, and adjusted the font size to make it easier to read.
Thank you for all the support! We’re almost at 1000 downloads!
A Small FAQ: What’s with Red?
Another highlight I’ve decided to talk about is one of the questions I’ve gotten! Since the release, I’ve gotten simple questions such as what sort of creature some of the designs are (for example, Tash is based on an Ant Lion!) and who the mysterious voice is (that’s a secret).
However, one question I got most of all was: why does Sena change to a red attire on day two? This one requires a proper post, especially considering how it doesn’t go into the why in-game.
Picture above are all the color options you’ll be getting in the game (outside of spells). As you can see above, there are two red versions, and two blue -- some in which haven’t been in the demo.
This is because I was still going through some thoughts about how to approach the matter, but after a lot of thought, this is the result I’ve decided on! To clear any misconceptions and other oddities -- your local protagonist is canonly genderfluid, with blue associating with male, and red with female.
Being genderfluid myself, I’ve tried to think how to represent it in the game without it being in someone’s face too much. With this, I feel it works well! After all, this is not a game about exploring gender and expression -- but it is a game about perception. To Sena, this is how he presents himself!
So what does this mean for the player? Not much! Sena only uses he/she pronouns (he primary), but I’m not out to fault anyone who makes a mistake or two? Just have a good knowledge of it. Thank you!
P.S: While Sena doesn’t use they pronouns, there are several characters planned to be nonbinary. Overall though, the characters are free to be interpreted as you like! Go wild! I accept all the hc’s. All of them.*
20 Days Later: Let’s play and...review?!
Hi again! After 20 days of my game’s release, I have been surprised and awed at how much attention it has gotten: as of typing, this game has over 680 downloads, and the rate of downloads has yet to decrease. This was a lot higher than what I expected (maybe a 100 at best), so I thank you a lot for giving my game a chance!
I’ll be doing more posts like this in the future (how often, I’ve yet to decide), but I feel it’s important to give recognition to the sort of work others do with my game.
To start, we got a review for version 1.1 by Early Access Gaming, which you can read right here! It talks about the game itself, but also a small interview that goes into detail about the development of the game.
Alongside this, we’ve got not, one, but two let’s plays going on! The first is by DoodrunDoesThings, who’s currently playing through the 1.2 demo:
Part One
Part Two
And the second is a playthrough by MaliceDiary! The version they’re playing is 1.1, and they’ve complied a Full Playlist for easy game watching.
Update: Another let’s play was alerted to me after posting this! This one is by ManlyBadassHero, and covers all routes! You can watch it here.
To everyone, if you have any sort of work -- a let’s play, fanart, writing -- you’re always welcome to send it to me, or use the sightless (game) tag to notify me about it! Each and every thing drives me to continue work as a developer, and I thank everyone who’s spread the word.
Sightless Ver 1.3 Demo: Download!
Hi! We’re back at it again with another demo update: this update should be the final version of the demo, so long as there isn’t any more bugs lurking underneath.
Thank you for the support, and look forward to a few additional posts I’ll be making soon~
Sightless Ver 1.2 Demo: Download!
Hello! I have updated this game with a new demo! This fixes a lot of minor but notable bugs that have been reported by those who have played it. I’ve also changed the zip compression, so it should work for non-users of 7-zip!
Thank you for the support!
Sightless Ver 1.1 Demo: Download!
After over a year of work and kind support from my Patreons, the demo for my game, Sightless, is here! This game is an exploration based game with RPG-like elements, and stars Sena, a curious boy who yearns to learn more about the world he lives in. To download, simply click on the link offered above!
Notes:
This game can be dark, and has several violent images. For those who do not like blood at all, this game may not be for you!
Alongside this, there are a few moments that could be considered sudden. These ‘minor jump scares’ have all been noted in the read_me.txt as a warning for those preparing themselves!
Thank you very much to everyone who has supported this game from the beginning! If you enjoyed this demo, consider buying me a Coffee or pledging to my Patreon.
