hmm... what would the other phantom thieves be doing if they were in his shoes? while world-hopping stuff isn’t exactly new to him, he’d always at least had joker with him to do all the strategic thinking... wait, he could sneak around and gather intel, duh!

problem is, he’s not really the ‘sneaking around’ type. it’s easy enough when he can just follow someone else’s lead, but crouching alone in this alleyway is making him feel way out of his element. not to mention stupid.

“this’d be a helluva lot easier if i wasn’t wearin’ a freakin’ school uniform...” he mumbles, rearing the corner. unfortunately, he wasn’t anticipating for that to put him directly face-to-ankle with a lady passing by. nice going, skull. he slowly tilts his head upward and offers a sheepish grin, “uhhh... h-hey.”

❁ : yor supposes she should be a little more concerned about this place than she has been, but aside from making sure anya is okay and keeping herself in good cheer, there’s... been surprisingly little of interest going on. that’s fine, actually - she’d rather there be less excitement than more with so many unknown factors in play. if anything, this place has been almost too quiet (aside from the strange bouts of food falling from the sky).

still, every day is full of possibility. that has to be why she ends up spotting the young lady as she attempts to get a clearly locked door open. had she not been looking down the alley, yor might not have seen her. clearly she needs some assistance - it’s still polite to offer help to strangers here, right? she must just have locked herself out! she hurries on over at a jogging pace, waving.

‘excuse me, but i noticed you were struggling with that door. i completely understand - i’ve locked myself out of our apartment so many times it’s almost embarrassing.’ actually, it was definitely embarrassing to have had to get loid or anya to let her back in on those occasions, but she won’t bring that up to a complete stranger.

‘here, let me - !’ she doesn’t hesitate more than a moment before crashing a balled-up fist through the admittedly shoddily-constructed door. the handle seems to have fallen completely off. ‘... i’ll have to give you the money to fix that later on. i don’t have any right now, but at least you can get into your office!’

"you’re researching Servants?” Other than for Chaldea, the number of Heroic Spirits gathered was an unusually high collective, but that meant nothing to someone who wasn’t from the world of mages. There wasn’t anything of this woman to suggest that she fell into that of familiarity with magecraft, and if there were plentiful, simply knowing about Servants was perhaps to be expected. Hm... was she maybe out to attempt summoning her own? Were there any ley lines on the island that would make such a feat possible? There wasn’t a Grail here, so a War was off the table, at least as far as the girl could tell.

"I’m pretty inexperienced as a Servant, and might not be of much help, but if there’s anything you can get answered out of talking, I’ll certainly try”.

                   After joining the rangers, Nagamasa had come to notice how often civilians were in danger. He almost had to wonder ——– were they walking into hazardous situations on purpose ? Sure, if not for the forces of evil, these citizens wouldn’t be risking their lives. But wasn’t at least some of the blame on them ? Shouldn’t they have known to look out for the villains who assaulted the city at least once a week ?

                   Yet again, he’d spotted an ordinary civilian who’d put herself in harm’s way. Nagamasa broke off from the rangers’ group and sprinted towards her. He could hear the other rangers calling after him, but he ignored them. How many hapless victims had there been this week alone ? Why did this woman feel the need to add herself as yet another one ? Nagamasa was almost annoyed, but in the end, he had a sense of justice and duty he couldn’t ignore. Once he was within the stranger’s line of sight, he yelled out to her.

                    ❛❛ You there ! Yes, you —– the reporter ! Now is not the time to dawdle in front of the giant monster destroying the city’s buildings ! I assure you that your reporting can continue later. In the meantime, let us hurry and escort you to a safer location. ❜❜

It was nothing he wasn't unaccustomed to; given the track record Nasods and their technology held back home, it wasn't uncommon for him to get odd looks. Nonetheless, he turns; the mechanics of his arm whirring and clicking to compensate for the movement; and cybernetic eyes fall on his observer.

"... Is everything alright?"
