Thanks to all who donated to our FIRST Fights Hunger Food Drive this weekend and helped us truly Amp It Up! Over 500 food items were collected and delivered to the Lake Villa Township Food Pantry.

Thanks to all who came out last night to take time from your holiday season to come together as a FIRSTcommunity to fight childhood hunger. Together, we had over 100 participants pack 20,520 meals that will feed 56 children for an entire year! That is the way to Amp It Up! Follow our link to the event photo album.
Special thanks to our POP Rocks community who came out in numbers to show that this journey can start at FIRST Lego League JR and FIRST Lego League. Additional special thanks go out to the got robot? - FTC Team #5037 squad who came all the way from Elgin. You have been an inspiration to us from day 1 and we are always honored to spend time together in any capacity. Finally, special thanks to Spare Parts Robotics for bringing their crew from Crystal Lake after just getting in from holiday vacations.

The dog days of summer are not quite over apparently as dogs of all breeds were out in force at the Safe Harbor Walk for PAWS event in Kenosha. We had ball hanging with em and making some new friends.
Beacon Place has a mission of inspiring and guiding our neighborhood’s children and families toward a brighter tomorrow.
Today we got a chance to work hand in hand with their volunteers to bring robotics to Beacon Place. From sharing experiences, to building with Legos and driving a demo FIRST Tech Challenge robot, we all had a great experience and look forward to reconnecting with this organization. We hope the kids had as much or more fun than we did. Based on the reactions, we think they did.
We look forward to continuing this relationship with future visits.
