Today was important. Everything had to be perfect. Paper crinkled as the dragon wrinkled her brow, concentrating on the list she had been pouring over. She had the whole trip planned out, starting with meeting her redheaded significant other at the amusement park in the next city over. 

They were going to make an overnight trip of it, a hotel on the water front where they planned to stay. The place had five star reviews all around online, including sound proofed rooms and excellent continental breakfasts in the morning, along with late night check ins. Kamii wanted everything to be just so because this was going to be a special date with a perfect ending to the night. The morning after was just as important but not something that she felt she could plan on.

Looking up from her list with a small sigh, she shifted on her feet in front of the amusement park, excitement and anxiety churning her stomach a bit. Tonight was the night that they were going to be fully intimate for the first time. They had made out and fooled around, getting close a few times, but Kamii wanted it to be special, a chance to come together fully as couple. Usually she wasn’t so worried about sex, but she loved Mikah...she wanted them to feel just how much they meant to her since the words didn’t always come from her easily. 

Actions were easier than words. More meaningful. 

Seeing the familiar red hair, she beamed and waved, launching her hand in the air eagerly. “Mikky! Mikkky! Over here!”

      “Yes, it’s me, Ren Kurishima. Sure, I’ll give you all my autograph!” This boy must be hallucinating if he thinks anyone around the small park is actually there for him. Still, he isn’t causing much harm, only verbally annoying a few of the adults who came here for a relaxing time.

The white haired demon grimaced slightly, before attempting to stretch his back out a little. He’d spend so long inhabiting his last vessel he forgot how uncomfortable adjusting to a new one could be for him. His body wasn’t terribly fond of being confined in a physical form. He’d just basically beaten it into submission before.

Maybe he’d take a second to just hide out in this alleyway for a bit. Walking around anymore sounded taxing.

    Teeth gritted beneath his mask and it takes all his willpower not to jump down from the spot he’s perched upon and wring the thief’s neck. Nik expected to find them here, in the ritzy neighborhood where the larger the house, the more money you have. As much as Nik didn’t particularly like these people, with their giant backyard swimming pools and white picket fences, he still had to protect them from ballsy burglars- and the red head was beyond just a ballsy burglar. 

He saw them slither out from one of the houses, and lips pursed as he cat whistled to get their attention. Nik would at least give them the curtest of a fighting chance ( he really hasn’t learned from his past experiences ), and he hops down from the brick wall to approach them. “Fancy seein’ ya here! Goin’ on a lil’ stroll? A nighttime rendezvous? Wha’s in the fuckin’ bag?” He’s pointing at the pack slung over their shoulder, “Jus’ gimme it and maybe I won’t hurt ya’ too bad. Sounds good, yeah? Unless ya’ into that sorta thing, cuz’ in tha’ case I’ll hurt ya’ real good.”

                            the rendezvous spot is far from any area in the city Lyon had ever been in.  appearing here alone makes him feel vulnerable, and scared.  similar feelings accompany a new spell, so it’s trivial for him to suppress the feeling.

                            it is not by his choice that he appears here late at night, but rather necessity.  his contact says that it’s easier to hide from authority in this place, and Lyon chokes down the idea that authority would be on his side.

                            his knuckles are white against the dark briefcase he carries.  each streetlight he passes under makes him turn his head in another direction, weary and anxious, searching for one of the many who might want to take advantage of a naive, wealthy politician’s son.  thankfully, he makes it to the building without incident.

                            the seller is already waiting for him.  Lyon feels as though a thousand other set of eyes are upon him as he approaches them.  perhaps it’s not merely paranoia...  there are plenty places for people to hide...  Lyon was meant to come alone, but if he hadn’t, perhaps he’d been taken somehow...

                            he shudders.  his other hand joins the one on the briefcase to prevent both from shaking.

❝ you... got it right? ❞

                            poisonous herbs, ground bones of two different animals, and a handful of other rare reagents that are most assuredly illegal and only available on the black market were Lyon’s order.  he plans to do more business with this group, should this transaction be successful, but the fear in his chest now almost deters him from this very first purchase.

                            he hefts the briefcase, indicating to it.   ❝ the money...  it’s here.  i’d like to see the... product before...  i hand it over.  if that’s alright. ❞

Her stomach hurt...Kamii wiped some of the sweat accumulating on her forehead with the back of her sleeve. Running from the hunters was getting harder...she had some help from Kikei and Hanek, but she didn’t want to get them hurt any more then she wanted any of her family or friends to get hurt. She had a few scratches and bleeding wounds from the last scrap with the hunters. Almost hadn’t escaped that time...

Before she knew it, she was leaning against the wall just outside of Mikah’s door. Shakily, she raised a hand and knocked. Her body had just came here automatically, as if sensing the place she wanted to be most, as her cheeks heated up and she started sweating a bit more. As the door opened, she locked eyes onto the person she wanted most.

                 he had simply been getting off of work, lazing around against his bike before he had to take off back to his apartment when he noticed something. redheads were easy to spot, be it their rarity or simply how bright some people DYED IT. “ what in the hell ... ” his voice trailed. his eyes kept on the young man, watching him slip by and smile at others. but his focus was elsewhere entirely. watching his hands, the demon spoke louder. “ oh my gods, you’re like a mini me --- a goddamn thief. ” at least, a long time ago, that was.
