“CREATE YOUR OWN RACKET”
Sike Style and Lucid Arts
Daniel Bartle, aka Lucid Arts, has been working on an ongoing series titled KCOG (Kansas City Original Gangsters) looking back at Prohibition era Kansas City, so when he teamed up with Sike Style to do this wall they agreed to continue that theme in this film noir style. In the East Crossroads neighborhood at 17th and Locust Streets, this mural took approximately a combined 80 hours to complete over two months in the summer of 2014—working in small chunks of time over lunches and Saturday afternoons. Lucid was largely responsible for the faces and car while Sike Style focused primarily on the backgrounds and lettering.
