It's the time of year now to keep your close ones closest. We'll be friends forever and I don't care if you know it.
Vera looked over at Silas from her perch in her bed, a nest of blankets surrounding her and she observed them working on something at her desk. It was a quiet moment, the kind that left Vera feeling content and at ease. Instances like this one reminded her that there was still good in this world for her friend, and for herself. She hummed, settling into her blankets as she thought briefly about the future. Si would be graduating next year, and she didn’t know if they’d even be in the same time zone after that. But Vera knew that, no matter what, she would do anything for this person. Silas would always be her friend, and she would do anything for them.
“Hey Si?” she said, a yawn escaping her mouth and interrupting her, “You’re really cool.”
