Scarred by Gold || Lucretia and Silas
The early morning fog concealed the Gold manor from view, leaving only an outline of the massive house in the circle of tangled vines. Lucretia pushed aside vines and thorns, making her way towards the fields her father owned but rarely visited. Unlike many other Unseelie nobles, Ambrose Gold hadn’t chosen to live in the wealthy district of Gillyshire, instead preferring a more isolated location to the west. The fields near the estate were filled with a tangle of plants that caught on Lucretia’s white dress, to her annoyance.
For many years, she used to run through this very path to meet up with Silas in the remains of a stone house that had once collapsed on its unfortunate owner. The two of them had collected the man’s bones years ago to make macabre jewelry out of, but that had been when they were only children. Now much had changed, but both had been scarred by Lord Gold. Physically and mentally.
After a trek that made Lucretia’s legs ache, she reached the stone ruins and sat on a fallen wooden beam, waiting. She had heard from her father that Silas had been frequenting the area more often. If things were anything like they once were, Silas would visit this house for old times’ sake. If not, well, a letter might have to do.
