39 - The Slimy Swamps

To the southeast of the city, and just past the farms of Pollen Town, lies the Slimy Swamps. I’m not 100% on the name, but it’s been a day, so that’s the best I got. The road that runs through these swamps is dangerous, and seldom taken, but should any brave travelers survive the journey, they will save days of travel time that would have been spent going around the mountains (which have not yet been world edited in).

The name of this swamp comes from the horde of slimes that inhabit it. The reports from the Monster Hunter Guild (coming... eventually) suggest that the slimes have a massive nest deep within the swamps. While many mock the danger of the slimes, the combination of deep mud and heavy wagons allows even the slowest of slimes to have a chance at catching dinner. It is rumored that the slimes take entire wagons back to their nest. If this is true, their den holds years worth of treasure in various states of digestion.
