This battle was certainly not going in Wei’s favour, to put it lightly. Considering almost everything was on fire, Zhenji concerned herself more with getting out. Getting out, however, also included stopping the enemy from pursuing her and her allies, and she’d be damned if she would allow Wu and Shu to kick her while she’s down. She would do all that she could for her allies in this time.
If she had her way, she could continue forcing the enemy back, but playing offensive was not the wise decision given the circumstances; and so, she had to fight only to escape with the soldiers scrambling off of the ships, most of who at this point were unarmed. Zhenji’s gaze snapped to the side at the sound of a man’s cry - an ally’s cry - in their failed attempt to stop the enemy. What she thought would be more regular soldiers was instead a lone man, staggering in height and littered with scars.
Not only did his unwelcoming presence encourage a faster evacuation from the ships, Zhenji wondered how he could have gotten so far into their ranks. Was he an assassin searching for someone before they could escape? It was not like she was unafraid of this new threat, but she was not one to back down either. Grasping her chain whip tightly, she stared intensely at the tower of a man. “Pursue no longer, or you must go through me.”
