Sileni Estates Sparkling Cuvée Sauvignon Blanc New Zealand - Hawke's Bay
Sileni estates Sauvignon blanc, 2018 Marlborough NZ. Sauv blancs are meant to be drunk fresh and young anyways so this one comes as a rude shock tasting like a poorly done chardonnay. Slight floral nose, some pear and citrus aromas. Dominant acidity, pear, apple, citrus flavours, medium bodied but short finish. More shocking in your face profile than crisp, dry or refreshing.
Maybe I’ve set high expectations and standards of how a sauv blanc should be. This one doesn’t meet its mark.
