“Jack… Sayo… whatever it is, just let me try.” Lux doesn’t know what Jack is into. She’s hoped when he left the Heylin life behind he’d gotten out of any shady business, its starting to look otherwise but Lux still gives Jack the benefit of the doubt. If he’s in something bad, someone pulled him there. This isn’t his choice. If someone did this, that’s someone Lux can fight. If she can fight someone, she can save Jack.

“I don’t know what’s going on, I don’t need to,” Lux takes both of Jack’s hands in her own. “just tell me how I can help and I’ll do it.”

“I... don’t know what it is I’ve done to deserve you,” Jack chuckled sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

Lux is so amazing to him. The fact that she’s willing to help him through this situation despite not knowing how deep she’ll be getting into this situation touches him. Of course he’s not going to let her get hurt, even going so far as to kill the person that tries to harm her, even if it is in front of her eyes but he’d rather not let her see that side of him.

Jack squeezes her hands and smiles. Lux could help him, or rather help the people his enemy said he’d hurt as the result of Jack’s actions. Some people couldn’t take no for an answer. He’d have to explain himself.

“...I would... like you to protect a group of people who are special to me. Some people cannot take no for an answer, Lux. I didn’t want to do a merger with someone and now they’re threatening me and those people. There’s nothing my bodyguards can do about it.”

I wish I could just... use my sword and be done with this but that bastard had to put Lux in the loop...

Lux’s attention is on Kat rather than the room or anything else, really. She and Kat aren’t exactly official yet, she doesn’t think, but this holiday definitely seems like a step in that direction. Lux has had butterflies in her stomach all day; excited, nervous butterflies. Lux hasn’t had any sort of romantic or sexual relationship with a woman before and she’s still not sure of her sexuality. She envies Kat that.

Lux is just casually scanning the room when Kat tells her to call the police. “The police? Wh-” her gaze follows Kat’s. Lux isn’t sure what she’s seeing exactly but she doesn’t think she wants too. “What… What do I tell them?” He voice shakes but she dials the three digit number all the same. With the mobile phone pressed against her ear, Lux grabs the room phone and dials down to the front desk. She tells the police everything they ask and all that Kat tells her to. “No one from the hotel is answering.” Lux tells Kat as the room phone rings out for the third time.

“Tell them... just tell them that they need to come, right away! I... I don’t even think they would believe me if I told them. Better to just show them.”

Inside her heart was beating rapidly out of anger and fear. Kat quickly slips the letter into her jacket so Lux cannot see. She would have to find out who exactly was behind this, somehow get into contact with Jack and tell him the situation and he could come and get them from a harrowing and seemingly painful trap.

Under no circumstance would she allow Lux to get hurt over her business. She cared about Lux far too much to see her get hurt. Her fear is relevant to that. Kat turns around to face Lux, then freezes at her revelation.

“...That.. that can’t be! We literally saw a bunch of people when we were coming up here!”

Nergüi takes a long drag from his cigarette. Breathing out he watches the smoke swirl into the sky. A snort and more smoke exits his nose. Yeah, that feels good. A nice calming sensation he had been craving. When you’re almost always rage it is nice finding something to help you chill for a second. Although, he isn’t as addicted as people think he is ... or so he says.

He leans against one of the back walls of the school, one of the few areas where no security cameras can see. He’s considering bailing again. He already skipped the last class and now the lunch bell has rung. Soon there will be kids swarming everywhere. He is not here for that.

The moment he is about to push himself off the wall and leave, footsteps crushing grass tell him someone is coming around the corner and at speed. He stays where he is, intrigued by this development. He keeps up his relaxed air when the girl comes around the corner.

“Hey,” Is all he says, letting his cocked eyebrow do the questioning.

Lux looks up at Mia and then turns her face away. She hadn’t exactly been avoiding Mia, but maybe she hadn’t been making the effort she once had to see her friend. Sometimes it was just too hard to look at those purple eyes without remembering the silver mask that had once hid them.

“Ah, sure.” Lux replies. “We can totally chat.” She slides across on her sleeping mat to make room for Mia. Should she get some alcohol out of her cupboard for them to share like they used to? It doesn’t need to be any different. They used to drink when Yingzi made it impossible for Mia to sleep and Lux was haunted by her memories. It’s possible, that in a way, nothing is different. Lux would be surprised if Mia doesn’t have nightmares of Yingzi. Lux does.

“What did you want to talk about?” Lux smiles to hide her thoughts. She never wants Mia to know that she is still haunted by those days when Mia was possessed by the demon. She knows Mia already feels guilty about everything that happened. Lux doesn’t need to add to that.

“Um ... Yes, good,” Mia mutters, lowering herself onto Lux’s mat, legs crossing beneath her.

It has been quite some time since Mia sat on this mat. Far too long. It used to be a thing of mutual comfort between the two girls, some way to make their demons less prominent. It was nice, despite the horrors that brought it on, but right now it feels ... awkward. The way Lux had looked away from her didn’t help. It makes Mia think her friend doesn’t want to see her and causes fear to churn in her gut.

“I ... ah,” Mia clears her throat, hands clasping in her lap. A sheepish smile touches her lips. “I don’t know. Anything. Everything. I just miss talking to you, Lux. I know we’re both busy with our new ranks and duties but that’s no excuse for two friends to stop talking to each other, especially since we sleep so close.”

Mia herself, now a Wudai Warrior, has been doing research into her Wudai weapon so she can go on her quest for it. It is very slow going. Apparently it was lost not long after the beginning of time. A very difficult thing to track indeed. She is concerned she will never find it.
