TIMY Last 3 Weeks
When TIMY was launched as next JaDine telerseye, I was excited and expect it to be bigger than OTWOL, but as the saying goes, expect the unexpected. TIMY had a good start, but as the story progress and develops, it raises disappointment to few. Can’t blame them because it is really disappointing specially now in its Last 3 Weeks.
When the teaser for the Last 3 Weeks was shown last Friday (December 29, 2016) first thing that came out of my mouth “what the hell was that?” Mukhang naiba ata ang ihip ng hangin at biglang may applicant na maging “Third Party / Kabit”, if so, nasaan na ang creative minds ng mga writers, ang daming pwedeng maging conflict that will test the married couple pero they resort to common plot. Siguro para madaling maintindihan at maka relate ang tao. (hays, disappointed much.) For the past months, TIMY gives us message and realization in life. But for the Week 19 (January 2, 2017 to January 6, 2017) teaser, does it imply na kapag hindi napagbibigyan ang husband, the husband will resort to having other woman; or flirt around with other woman; or be tempted to have other woman? We’ve seen it in other teleserye, husband cheats, has mistress, magkaka-anak and the legal wife will forgive the husband and reconcile; or the legal wife will file annulment so the husband will be with his mistress? is this what we are going to see in the last three weeks? Good thing, hindi pa masyadong nata-trap si husband (but there is a sign na malapit na, specially in the Week 20 teaser. We hope not!) with this successful and famous event planner who is out to get the him, ruin the business of the couple and the marital relationship of the couple. The newbie character pissess me off. Why? because her character does not empower woman and does not inspire woman. Yes, she is successful and famous in her field but getting what you want at the expense of another and to the extent of ruining a marital relationship, is a very wrong. Manipulating other people to get what you want is a selfish thing to do, pero kung iisipin mo sa field na ginagalawan nila manipulation is possible (ehem…). Pero di ba mas maganda kung ang success galing sa hardwork like what “The Love Team” is doing. Let me also add, this newbie girl is having so much exposure nawawala na sa plot yung three lead characters – Ali, Iris and Basti lagi na lang naka-focus sa kanya.
Wait there’s more, some fans want characters in OTWOL to cross over TIMY, mukhang hindi na pala kailangan kasi yung mismong scene na lang ang magcro-cross over (wall climbing, career-love issue, et.al.). Kaya tuloy viewers can’t help but compare the two teleserye which has the same director and writer. For me, what sets OTWOL from TIMY apart are the artists, the story plot and the execution. OTWOL had a powerful cast, majority of them are theater artists (Isay Alvarez, Joel Torre, Benj Manalo, award winning actors and actresses, and respectable ones in the industry; kahit may bagong artista sa OTWOL, atleast she belongs to a showbiz family and acting runs in her blood. To be honest, hindi ko binitawan ang OTWOL from day 1 except the part na nag-away at naghiwalay sila (and I know some of you agree with me) but I came back watching two days after that scene.
OTWOL has a good story plot, (pinag-isipan at pinaghandan) and very much relatable specially sa mga may kamag-anak abroad at OFW, no wonder madaming TFC subscriber. It teaches us how to value our family and loved ones from start to finish; it also makes us realize that love and career can go hand in hand. And its so heartbreaking when OTWOL ends buti na lang naglabas sila ng DVD and there’s iwantv, so we can watch it repeatedly over and over again.
To end, sabi nila ang first teleserye ng magka-loveteam can make or break atheir career, fortunately with OTWOL, JaDine made it on top. And the succeeding “teleserye” is a validation that they are really indeed on top of their game. But with TIMY story plot, I don’t know. Buti na lang these two are talented, they can act, sing and dance, they can do magic and be artistic behind camera, kaya they will remain on top.
