Silkin and their bee-jellyfish life cycle!
Silkin are one of the several groups of sophonts encountered by riakhou.
Like jellyfish they have two different generations. The non sapient polyp and the sophont generation made up of workers and drones.
The bee analogy comes into play with the sex / caste of imago Silkin. If the Queen Polyp was “pollinated”* the next generation will be workers, if it wasn’t, the next generation will be drones.
Silkin are a whole Family, with many genera and multiple species per genus documented.
*although this term is usually used for plants, it is preferred by Silkin and used more commonly than “inseminated” or any other.
British politician John Silkin, mid-1970s.
This blog is dedicated to storing knowledge about a species called riakhou (and maybe some other species too). This is a Xenobiology / Xenopsychology blog run like a journal documenting the species. The blog is very much under construction and a bit messy but feel free to lurk around.
ALSO PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS. ASKBOX IS OPEN! We love questions on this blog!

SILKIN Releases Single “Remember Me”
Los Angeles native SILKIN has released a new single called “Remember Me”.
SILKIN describes “Remember Me” as a reflection on how we spend so much time and share so many experiences with our partners, and once a relationship comes to an end, we become strangers. In her own words: "It’s a weird phenomenon and I couldn’t wrap my brain around it. We all go through it and it’s absolutely heartbreaking each time. We don’t want to forget them and we don’t want to be forgotten."

Ring Of Honor - Race To The Top Tournament: Night One
I didn't take any photos here, but the show was a great display of young talent that is now on top of the US Indy scene.
- I was set to meet a friend at intermission so gave my 2nd row ticket to someone else, but my friend was running late so I ended up watching most of the second half of the show at the curtain while chatting with Carey Silkin and Nigel McGuniess.
