Classic masculinity from the smoke-filled golden years of the 1960s and 1970s. I love everything about that era - the fashion, the hairstyles, the attitudes, even the little touches like eyeglasses and sideburns. Most of all, the 1960s and 1970s marked the last time that pipe smoking was reasonably common in public. This blog honors those men - the academics, businessmen, politicians, doctors and the like - who were secure in the manhood and knew that pleasure was never more than a few flicks of the lighter away.

There are jillions of web sites out there and many many wonderful pipe smoking sites, but do you know what site is my very favorite site? It's YOURS! Vintage Pipe Men!!

Yes, there's a lot of AI and whatnot, but your site is a true gem! There is no site out there like it.

I understand and appreciate your decision to step back, but am sad to see the site ending. I truly will miss it and hope to see you back when the time is right.

That's a wrap (for now at least)

Vintage Pipe Men had a good run of almost twelve years, but life has gotten busier and it's getting harder to make the time to post. Tumblr also seems to be overrun by AI slop and mindless "generated" content, and it doesn't really feel like there's room for this little niche page amidst all the noise that creates. For the handful of folks who still check in, I hope you've enjoyed the posts over the years. There's still lots of material in my archives, but it feels like the moment has passed. Perhaps in time, the page will be back. Until then, thanks to those who've been following, and for indulging this little hobby of mine for so many years.
