A quote! *snaps fingers*
“Luleh ka-en klisth?” Lia asked, looking around her as we went along. It didn't look like she was talking to any of us... more like the world in general.
“What's she saying?” I asked Madeline. She shushed me.
Lia was quiet for a moment, then shook her head. “Lȧen kairee – drakyuth mohk olek orneta.”
“Hmph,” said Madeline. “She asked the trees if they saw anything, but they're too upset from last night's fighting to answer her.”
“Wh- excuse me?” said Tina. “The trees?”
“Sir Ryan told me about this,” said Fabian. “He saith that Lia's kind are in a sort of... 'brotherhood' with the trees, and that they sometimes speak together. Methinks it is witchcraft.”
“Not if her whole kind can do it,” I said. “Not every human is a witch, right?”
“True enough, maiden,” said Fabian. “But I trust not this 'brotherhood'.”
