Mikanagi-sensei posted the pictures of regular (top) and Animate (bottom edition) of Karneval Volume 18 :D
being the silver!Yogi/Yogi shipper I am, I also cropped them from the back cover heh
New chapter 106. Can't wait to have it published in my country!
silver!Yogi/Yogi moments: Score 64 and Score 105
Score 102: Loss of Control
In these two panels, Yogi and Gareki calmly addressing silver!Yogi’s actions in Score 64 and 97 despite having every right to be angry with silver!Yogi.
Especially when silver!Yogi had really hurt Nai’s feelings a lot and broke Yukkin in Score 64, and then Gareki was subjected to a lot of violence in the very twisted game that they were playing.
It also shows Gareki’s character development, from headbutting at first sight to trying to understand silver!Yogi. I’d say he picked up this trait of showing more concern to others from Yogi, since Yogi is also the kindest person in this series. Kind enough to touch Gareki’s rather cold heart and to apologise on behalf of silver!Yogi.
Maybe this kindness might save silver!Yogi from the despair he had been subjected to, even if he is extremely broken right now... For Yogi, it might be very difficult due to amnesia and mental world mechanisms, but Gareki just might be able to do it.
Score 97 was a very intense chapter, but hopefully it wasn’t too shocking. Mikanagi-sensei loves foreshadowing and if you’ve looked hard enough this was inevitable. Doesn’t make it less painful though.
Really, there has been signs pointing towards silver!Yogi being the original personality and memory of Yogi.
Yogi’s personality gives readers a strange feeling. Sure, he’s cheerful and sparkly... then on the other hand, he keeps worrying about things but keeps his worries to himself. Oh, he’s also afraid of battles, doctors, dolls and monsters. There’s this sense of emptiness and nothingness despite how Yogi seems ok on the outside.
OFFICIAL FANBOOK INFORMATION ON YOGI’S PROFILE. -Yogi’s namer is Hirato. The name of Yogi means 'give in (a) ceremony’ and has a feeling of 'from this place called Circus’s Second Ship, a new life begins'. Originally I thought it was just a new beginning at life, but in this case, the new life is literally a new life as in beginning to exist. -Q&A with Tsukumo: 1. What was your first impression of Yogi? Tsukumo: His smiling face was kind so I was relieved… But I think he really had a slight lonely atmosphere around him… This is probably referring to the empty feeling thing and Yogi was probably more empty in the past.
The fact that silver!Yogi cried in Score 61-63 due to the dream which was a flashback. If those memories did not belong to him, he would not have feelings and sentiments towards it at all. The fact that he did means that the memories belonged to him.
Generally, silver!Yogi has this confidence and presence that Yogi lacks. Yogi is very hesitant and lets others order him and to an extent, uh, step over him, while silver!Yogi does his own thing with conviction, or at least until he’s stopped by Circus.
Finally, congrats to isumiilde who made such a theory 2 years ago and now it’s true. I still can’t believe it though.
