I’m very pleased to announce that a piece from my ‘Silver Salts’ series has been selected for exhibition at ACTINIC Festival in Scotland this summer.

The festival will run from June 26th - July 26th, and there will be an artists’ reception at Summerhall on July 3rd, 6-8pm.

Old School Photography

There is something about natural film grain I like, it is definitely different than digital sensor noise. Though you can emulate it via software, film grain is actually part of the negative image itself rather than an addition to it.

For black and white film at least, It has to do with the reaction to light of silver salts on the film itself so certain films have a different silver salt layer giving different grain qualities.
