HELLO CURRENT AND FUTURE MEMBERS

We’ve only been open a couple of days but we’re so happy to see the dash moving and have enjoyed so much watching your characters come to life! As Rosa and I have mentioned before, we’ve been out of the admin game for quite some time and haven’t often kept up with what goes on around the rpc. When we decided to open this roleplay, we decided to do so with intention and to make sure that as admins we were always transparent as possible from the jump. We also knew that opening an rp meant opening us up to receive a lot of messages from various places and as easy as it is to get defensive, we also know that often times many of these messages come from a place of concern or past hurt. When we’ve received concerns from anonymous folks or otherwise about players or issues within the roleplay, we always want to make sure we take it seriously, talk it out with folks and make sure we’re approaching the situation in a way that honors the harm done while also realizing that we do not know everyone and everything.

With that said, we also ask that you read through our guidelines and notes on our pages before making an assessment of what our intentions are. They are clearly stated on our page and we only ask that it be taken into consideration before we are approached with an issue. On the opposite side, if there is still an issue, we would much rather be held accountable than have folks be upset in the background or in silence. Please know that no matter what, we will always be open to a conversation.

Lastly, Rosa and I will not ever tolerate abusive, racist or frankly fucked up behavior. The rpc is so big yet so small, so the chances of us finding shit out is very likely. This may sound a bit aggressive but Rosa and I have both been on the receiving end of some pretty messed up behavior by admins and other players and we take it very seriously. We also know how much we have individually grown and matured as people and as roleplayers. As admins, we will always discuss the best way to approach an individual directly instead of just making a general post like this but it feels important to state early and often. If it comes to our attention that someone in our roleplay or who has applied for our roleplay has been harmful in the past, we will do our research, we’ll have the conversation and we promise that we will always take action that will ultimately lead to our members feeling as comfortable as possible.

HELLO CURRENT & FUTURE MEMBERS 

We hope everyone is having a good hump day and taking moments to take care of themselves! We’re writing because after giving some thought and after some observations we wanted to both expand and double down on our diversity rule. 

To start, you can read on our sidebar and in our guidelines our rules around race and gender specifically but we want to use this post to lay it out more explicitly. We’ll link this in our FAQ. 

Character Diversity: First characters may be of any race, gender, orientation, age, etc. If your first character is a white FC, your second character MUST be a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, Person of Color) FC. However, even if your first character is a BIPOC FC, we still HIGHLY encourage you to keep that energy for all of your characters. 

Gender Diversity: With that said, if you do pick up more than one character, they MUST be a different gender from your previous character. Along this line we HIGHLY encourage and would like to see much more non-cisgender representation on our character list. 

Age Diversity: If we are lucky enough to have you stick with us long enough to have a fourth character, we ask that they be significantly different in age from your other characters. We’d like to encourage as much age diversity as we can, that includes playing characters who are 40-45+. Again, this is something we’d like to see for first, second, third and fourth characters but will institute it as a stricter rule for fourth characters. 

We don’t want characters who have certain identities just for the sake of it but this is us pushing us all to think outside of the box of the usual cis & white boxes that can naturally be found in many roleplays. We need and must do better than this. 

Lastly, we want to say that these are all guidelines that we, as admins are dedicated to. We plan to show that more explicitly with the rest our characters and acknowledge that we are currently playing two white passing latinx fcs right now.

Hello again members!

As I mentioned in an earlier note, there are a few changes going on around here, the biggest being that Admin Rosa will be stepping down as admin for the time being. My beautiful, wonderful, brilliant, best friend will be focusing more on her uni work and just making sure she can keep being the real life badass that she is. But we’re super lucky to have friends who are family and who are always willing to help us out. So while it’s bittersweet (even though I talk to Rosa every day!!) I’m happy to announce that we will now have Admin Bri and Admin Rachel with us on the main!! 

We’re hopeful that this will ensure things on the main are getting attended to in a timely way and that all of us are able to balance real life with what we wish to create here. We’ll be taking the next couple of days to make sure our new admins are situated and know that all of us are here to help y’all and to discuss and ideas or concerns you may have. 

This is also a reminder that we will be accepting TODAY (!!) at 5pm est and currently have 20 spots available. If you were with us on our first acceptance, you can officially apply for a second character!

HELLO MEMBERS 

Wow that feels super cool to say! We’re so excited to officially open for interactions on the dash starting NOW!!! We just wanted to drop a quick note to say that while we do not have a starter rule, please be mindful and make sure you’re interacting with everyone. Open starters are encouraged! But if you’re posting one, make sure you’re replying to others. Closed starters are also cool! But we encourage you not make that your only form of interaction. 

If you’re struggling to write an open starter or even replying to one, we are here to help always, you can hit us up on discord or on the main for help. If you do post an open starter, please make sure to use the #silver.chat tag and to tag our starter blog ( @silverliningstarters ) so that we can reblog it there and make sure that folks don’t miss it. If you’re in the discord you can also post the link there or you can highlight it in the ooc blog if you’d like to. 

But most of all, have fun!!! Make sure you’re getting out there, we can’t wait to see your beautiful characters on the dash and the start to their journey here in Silver Linings.

Wow, today has been a day! It is a true understatement how excited we are to start to roleplay with you tomorrow and we hope everyone is having fun getting to know each other and plotting!

Now that we’re a bit more settled in and we are pretty sure the main is up to date (let us know if it you notice anything missing), we decided to open our inbox for WANTED CONNECTION SUBMISSIONS and NEW LOCATION SUBMISSIONS.
