Why Ozpin needs Ruby Rose

In todays chapter (V6C3) we got sooo much stuff. Mostly Salems motivation and backstory, including the reason she looks like a grimm.  During the episode we see the Brothers Grimm multiple times and the places they reside in. The God of destruction resides in the realm of darkness (?). With the pool we see at the beginning of Volume 4. The same pool the creatures of grimm are being created or come out of.  Salem jumps into the pool because she thinks it will end her mortality right? But not being able to be killed by the liquid in the pool, she is turned into this human grimm hybrid.

Jinn explains that, because of being unable to kill Salem, the pool turns her in a being that is both immortal and has a desire for pure destruction. One could now speculate that a silver-eyed warrior like Ruby might be able to extinguish the grimm part of Salem and turn her back to normal. Meaning the desire for the destruction is gone.

And then, after I got over my initial horror, I looked at the map that shows where Mystic Falls is, and then compared it to a map of Virginia, and Mystic Falls is kinda near a river, but it is nowhere near the sea, which is where the Viking’s would have settled. Also, for the colony to last 20+ years in such a remote place is almost impossible.

urgh, imagine if they actually left mystic falls and not just a delena road trip with green screened scenery? But I doubt it. Julie Plec has said they won’t be going to Mystic University, but it will probably still be about 10 minutes drive away

Having the show be about the town is not an issue, but bringing everything into the town to avoid moving characters (and writers) from their comfort zone is stupid.  The actual canon is insane, and I nod along with others because the show is so good, but it's really hard to swallow a lot of the crap they've made up this year.
