I know you're planning a rewrite for Hetaoni: Italy's story, but I was curious if you have any future plans for Memories of Old? It's one of my all-time favorite fics, and so I got curious if there were any future plans!
Oooh good question. Memories of Old is definitely a monster of a fic (and project!) At this time, I have no plans for a rewrite, but I do hope to continue it some day! The HetaOni arc is pretty much the last planned arc of the story, so once we get through this literally obscene number of Loops, we'll be about done!
Though I'll admit, I totally forgot who cast the spell in the first place. Lmao. I think juvenile childish me basically went 'let's blame Kumajiro' and then never gave it another thought.
Hello and welcome! This is the homepage and origin of the MediSoul Undertale AU! This is my first AU, so feel free to drop in questions and I'll get to them when I hop online. :)
I am a fanfiction author and not a very good artist. While I'd love to give him comics like the other AUs, I just don't have that artistic ability at this time. That said, I'll do my best to tell his story through snippets, stories and lore drops! Keep an eye out and you might occasionally see my attempt at art.
So, who is MediSoul and why is he here?
MediSoul is a Sans who has dedicated himself to practicing medicine. Teddy, his Papyrus, was born with an illness that affected his SOUL. With no doctors able to help him, MediSoul took it upon himself to become the doctor his brother needed.
At the time, the concept of a 'SOUL doctor' wasn't a thing. You had doctors, and you had SOUL Scientists. If someone's SOUL was damaged, you went to a doctor who consulted with a SOUL Scientist on your behalf. It was a very roundabout system that MediSoul thought was silly. So he singlehandedly created a hybrid medical field known as Animiatology. He would later bring this concept to the Multiverse at large.
He now runs a hospital he founded known as the Soul Sanctuary Hospital.
Okay, but why did you make him?
I noticed a distinct lack of SOUL-specializing healers in among the Undertale AU. I may have only been in this fandom for a little over half a year, but I love it! I figured MediSoul would be a great addition to the multiverse.

Why not just use Sci if you needed a doctor character?
I needed a medical professional specialized in SOUL healing. I've done extensive worldbuilding for this AU, and I hope it eventually makes it out into the fandom and can help along people who need a character like him.
Is Papyrus really dead??
Yes, unfortunately, he died before he'd graduated from stripes (he was likely around 12 or 13 when he died). The story's fairly tragic and I hope to tell it properly some day so I won't detail it just yet.
Why can Alphys Shortcut?
I have this idea that the Shortcut ability came from the incident that erased Gaster (and several other scientists, including some OCs of mine you'll eventually see). If Sans was there, and a small part of himself was erased as well, that could explain the Stats of 1 across the board, the Shortcut ability, and his ability to recall more than most during RESETs (deja vu, small fragments of memories, etc) So it stands to reason that if Alphys happened to be there, she'd gain some of those abilities as well.
Does this AU have RESETs/Pacifist Runs/Genocide Runs?
The MediSoul AU has never experienced a genocide route.
Does MediSoul have Stats of 1 like Classic Sans?
Yes! He does. His HP, ATK and DEF are all 1 across the board. However, his magic is physically unable to deal damage. Even if a Gaster Blaster fired a beam at someone, it wouldn't hurt them. If anything, it might have a mild healing effect! That said, his blasters can still bite, and harm that way, but they're usually used for defense or running memos around the hospital.

So Atemune (the artist mentioned above) had this wonderful Dusttale comic where Muffet captures Dust as he's attacking her, and pulls back his hood to see who this person is, only to find... Sans. And I saw that and had to write something for it.
Dust strikes me as someone who would stay during someone's final moments, if only because he always died alone.

Muffet's hands trembled as she looked at the smooth white bone glinting in the cavern. Bone that’d been hidden behind the shadow of her attacker’s hood until a moment ago. Mismatched eyes—one red, one red-rimmed blue—stared at her above a smile far sharper than it had any right to be.
This couldn't be right… it had to be a trick, a lie, a—
"what's the matter?" He chuckled, looking none-too-bothered about being trapped in her threads. "you look a little pale. it's not a good color on you."
"S-Sans?" She stuttered over his name. Even her children were twitchy. His smile didn’t falter. It looked wrong, like a stranger wearing the face of a friend.
"well, suppose it would've been better if the hood stayed up, huh?" He shrugged, eyelights never leaving her. Despite their circumstances, she felt like she was the one cornered.
"No… No, this isn't… you aren't him. Sans would never—“
"i appreciate the faith you had in me.” Something in his expression simultaneously softened and hardened as he spoke. “really, in another world, you would've been right." His humorless chuckles echoed against web and stone. "unfortunately for you, this isn't that world."
She barely had time to think, to breathe, as something tore through the webbing he'd been trapped in. In a blink, he was before her, magic thick in the air like ozone. Then there was a sharp, burning pain—almost frigid in its heat—right in her SOUL.
Everything froze. Everything stopped. She glanced down, body jerky and uncoordinated despite her wishes. He'd gotten her. A spear straight through the chest.
Sans had…
Had…
"Why?" She felt her strength rapidly leaving her body as the skeleton pulled his hood up once more. She swore she saw something like shame or guilt in his eyelights as she collapsed to the ground.
He hummed, but he didn't turn to leave. Instead he pulled out a bouquet of flowers—the kind she'd once told him was her favorite, many years ago.
“i know this won’t make much sense to you, but this is a mercy compared to what would happen if i'd let you live. you've suffered enough. you all have."
“I… don’t…” Her words took more effort now. Her children were gathered around her, and Sans… he just stood there, like some kind of demented guardian.
In the Hero’s Spirit Chronicles, will they find out that Arcadius is a ghost or that he’s a king first?
Oooh, what a great question!! The current plan is that they find out he’s the Champion first, as well as what that entails. But there may be a few individuals who discover his relatively unalive status first. 👀 I suppose we’ll have to wait and see!
I love your Hero’s Spirit Chronicles! I’ve reread it so many times! I have to ask, since Zelda sealed off the Sanctum with Ganon in it so that only a Hero could go in, are her and Link’s bodies still there? Did Link move them himself or will the Chain find them somehow? I love everything about this series, I’ll be so excited when the story updates!
Oooh, great question! I've got plans for the Sanctum in later chapters, so I'll answer in a way that doesn't really spoil anything, but yes. Their bodies are still there. Neither Arcadius nor Zelda had any desire to return to that place after everything they went through, and once the restoration of Hyrule was in full swing, they didn't really think about it again.
But it won't be the last time our story will take us to the Castle, so keep an eye out for that in the future.
