Sketches for a stake project The curved shape in the second picture was my reaction to the Armourer's Stake Anvil sketch by Jock Dempsey, found here - I want to make a long stake or beak iron, but even as the double-horn long stakes are beautiful, I find them rather clumsy in some situations - not the least in the tempering/hardening process. So I thought I'd make a long horn in the other end with a blunt-er tunnel stake in the other end, and borrow Jock's curved waist-idea to give the thing some balance. No idea whether it would actually work, eh! Got to make some test pieces first.
