Hey so I have a quick question- in your experience can any kind of rose be used in magic workings or does it have to the the traditional cottage rose type or does it not matter? I have rugosa roses and some wild roses growing in my yard I was wondering if it would make a difference.

Great question! Personally, I’ve used a few different species of roses, ranging from the big meaty red ones that are sold for Valentine’s to the tiny yellow ones just budding on my mom’s mini-rose bushes. The only variance I’ve noticed was in regards to color and age, and the larger ones seemed a bit more potent. But that’s only my experience!
As roses are a symbolic tool used to channel energy, I suppose it mostly comes down to you and how you view the differences.
