WELL so much for Wick the tiny thing. I got to a story quest I absolutely cannot get past, mostly because every time I try to play through it two of the three NPCs that are supposed to be helping me sit there doing nothing while I'm dogpiled by four golems and some bitch that keeps casting frost magic so I can't even run away.
So now I'm playing a human. As a rule, I think picking human in basically any game that lets you choose your race is indefensibly boring, but I was faffing about in the character creator yesterday and found out human women can have this adorable fluffy faux-hawk thing going on and I was doomed.
They know my weakness.
Also I wanted to play an engineer, and it would feel kind of weird playing an engineer Sylvari, although I have filed that under "things to do for shits and giggles", right next to making an elementalist Sylvari that uses nothing but fire.
