“I am beyond pissed off right now,” Freya huffed instead of greeting her fiancé as he entered the palace.
“And hello to you too dear,” Caius muttered so that she couldn’t hear him. “What’s wrong?”
“My self centered, egotistical, narcissistic, idiot brother, that’s what’s wrong!”
Caius grabbed her shoulders and pulled her into a hug. “Breathe Frey. Tell me what’s happened.”
She let herself be held and took a deep steadying breath. “I confronted him about proposing to Nell. I told him how it wasn’t fair to subject her to all of this if he doesn’t even really love her.” She ignored her fiancé’s look of mild horror and continued on. “He told me that I was only pissed because it meant that our wedding was pushed back and that he has full intention of enforcing the rule of succession for our weddings!”
Caius blinked as he took all of the information in. “So you are upset that our wedding is being pushed back?”
She frowned and let out a frustrated growl. “Yes, but I’m more upset about Flynn! He always gets everything he wants and it always ends up screwing me over!”
“But this isn’t technically Flynn’s decision, is it?”
She glared daggers at him. “If he wanted to do something about it he easily could. But he’s not, so here we are.”
“I’m sorry, darling, but I don’t think there is anything we can do about this.”
She stepped back from his embrace and gave him a grin that could only be described as devilish. “I have a plan.”
