How I feel about this character: I’m not much of a fan of some of his homophobic moments, but overall I appreciate him as a teenager character full of insecurities and flaws.

All the people I ship romantically with this character: Souji.

My non-romantic OTP for this character: with Chie, Rise or Kanji.

My unpopular opinion about this character: he secretly loves and earns for physical contact and hugs, but is too insecure to ask for it.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: HIS FREAKING ROMANTIC ROUTE THAT WAS SCRAPPED BY NO HOMO ATLUS.

I know I commented about it in the last chapter, but, god dammit, thank you for writing Nebulous which is probably now one of my favourite fanfictions of all time. Anyways! I was going to ask for writing tips but someone beat me to the punch, so I'm going to ask this: What gave you the inspiration for writing it and what inspired you to start writing in general?

as for your questions:

i think i was actually inspired to write nebulous when i read another fic (i honestly can’t remember which fic or where i read it) where souji and yosuke met briefly in the city or something like that, before either of them came to inaba. i found myself wanting to read some sort of chaptered fic where they somehow knew each other before meeting in inaba and from there the idea for a texting fic popped into my head and i thought ‘well, i guess i can try my hand at writing it’. honestly, it was meant to be quite short - 12 full chapters, according to my old plans - but when i saw how much love people were giving the fic, i decided to respond by fleshing it out a LOT and upping the quality of my writing. ^^

as for my inspiration for writing in the first place? that would come from two main things! first, from reading (and watching things and playing games - essentially immersing myself in other people’s stories). i can’t deny that the ideas of others have a powerful influence on the ideas that appear in my mind. and my second inspiration to write is the fact that i spend so much time dreaming up scenarios and plot lines in such in my mind and i want to write everything down so i can have a permanent record of all the ideas i have.
