Part 2 of the Warrior Adrift comic. This one took a little longer to make on account of one of my fingers almost falling off. ENJOY YOUR MAGIC AND FRIENDS AND PARTNERS DUDES AND DUDETTES!
This is a story about Islam, alienation and violent death — but it’s not one you’ll have read before. It is not about radicalisation, jihad and martyrdom. This is the story of an ex-Muslim. A young man who, as a teenager, moves from Pakistan to Britain, learns about the wonders of science and embraces a militant form of atheism. Who rejects God and religion, spirals into depression, and in an act of despair and disconsolation, takes his own life on a date that will resonate with everyone: September 11. This is Irtaza Hussain’s story. But it’s also the story of other men and women just like him, who, as a matter of principle and conscience, choose to abandon Islam and religious belief, becoming 'apostates' to the faith.

Breeding Contempt
An excerpt from my first fiction novel has been posted online over at Stilts. Content includes: statutory rape, bongs, high school drug dealing, junkie room mate and weird dreams.
I'm kind of nervous about broadcasting this, but yeah, go have a read. I only noticed one typo. Shout out to Simon Cottee for drawing Cyrus too. Legendary.
Kickstart this project!
About this project
"A duck fell in love with a rock. It was a large rock, about the size of a duck actually, that was situated off the bank of the river, a little past the old elm."
The Duck is a short 2D animated film about a Duck that falls in love with a rock.
Adapted from Ben Loory's incredibly charming short story from his book Stories for Nighttime and Some for the Day. It was recently read on This American Life's Valentine's Day special, at which moment my brain began to spin in my skull as I was taken hold by a fantastic moment of creative clarity. This story had to be made, by me, urgently.
This film sounds awesome and the Director (Simon Cottee) has some brilliant past work so I am sure this film will be just as good, if not better.
Check out his work here, and if you feel like you want to donate then click here and view his video pitch.
A wonderful friend of mine is trying to get his kickstarter off the ground to produce a rad short film based on a This American Life piece/short story by Ben Loory. In my opinion very worthwhile supporting.
