Curious, and I’m sorry if you answered this already but how does the family tell who is family and who are Daisies? Is it by scent? Do Daisies and the family have noticeable accents also?
It's been stated multiple times that Daisys do smell distinctly different!
Like flowers / forest instead of ocean / salt.
They are also typically thinner than family cats with the famine, you can see the ribs on many of them.
Thresher does not know every family cat by name / sight, but if he sees a starved cat lunging out of the forest, he's going to assume they're a Daisy.
Mollymawk and Hakes reaction would also be an indication that this is not a family cat from a distance. Mollymawk wouldn't be pancaked in fear, and Hake wouldn't be about to throw down.
I don't think they all have the same accent, Daisys are not a monolith despite how they are treated like one.
